Guidelines for Prescription Refills

Our office requires a 24-hour notice for prescription refills.
 
Refills should be called to your pharmacy. The pharmacy will call Neuroscience & Spine Center about the refill. The pharmacy will also call you when your prescription is ready to be picked-up.
 
No refills on weekends or holidays. The “on-call” physician will not refill medications. Pain medication will not be filled after hours, and on weekends or holidays.
 
Lost prescriptions will not be refilled. Lock up your prescription medicines and keep them out of reach of children.
 
Our physicians may not refill prescriptions for pain medications if you are receiving similar medicines from another physician.
 
Be aware of the effect of other medications you may be taking. Ask your doctor or pharmacist whether you can take these medications along with pain medications.
 
Do not drink alcoholic beverages while taking pain medications. Obey warnings regarding the sedation effect of certain medications.
 
Follow the prescribed dose of the medication. Do not give your medications to other people and do not take medication from others.
