		  <h1>Experience</h1>
		  <p>The neurosurgeons at the Neuroscience &amp; Spine Center of the Carolinas have over 75 years of combined experience. Three of these skilled surgeons have served as instructors of neurosurgery in leading medical schools and present the latest information in neurosurgery at national conferences around the nation. <br>
              <br>
		    Steven Gudeman, MD, has served as an Assistant and Associate Professor of Neurological Surgery at the Medical University of South Carolina, Professor and Department Chairman of Neurosurgery at Eastern Virginia Medical School and Professor and Chief of Neurosurgery at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill.  He has authored or contributed to more than 32 articles for medical journals and 18 books and/or chapters on various topics regarding neurosurgery.  Dr. Gudeman moved to Gastonia in 1994 and established Neurosurgery &amp; Spine Center of the Carolinas.  In 1998 he became a founding member of Neuroscience &amp; Spine Center of the Carolinas. </p>
		  <p>William Hunter, MD joined the faculty at the University of Wisconsin, Department of Neurological Surgery and has authored/coauthored several abstracts locally and nationally. Dr. Hunter became a partner in the Neuroscience &amp; Spine Center of the Carolinas in 2000.</p>
		  <p>Sivalingam Siva, MD served as an instructor in Neurological Surgery at the University of California, Davis Sacramento Medical Center before coming to Gastonia in 1977.  He established Neurology and Neurosurgery in Gaston County and was founder of The Neurological Center.  Dr. Siva has published articles in medical journals and given lectures regarding head and spinal cord injury prevention as well as stroke. He retired from private practice after 25 years.  In 2005, he joined Neuroscience &amp; Spine Center of the Carolinas as a consultant and an assistant to the neurosurgeons in the operating room.<br>
		    The two latest additions to Neuroscience &amp; Spine Center of the Carolinas are </p>
		  <p>Suhas Pai, MD and Michaux Kilpatrick, MD, PhD.   Dr. Pai joined the practice in 2007 after completing his duties as Chief Resident at the Medical University of South Carolina. He has given lectures both locally and nationally.  Dr. Kilpatrick arrived in 2008 after completing a fellowship in movement t the University of Pennsylvania.  She has research and teaching experience, has coauthored numerous medical articles and has been a presenter internationally, nationally and locally. </p></div>
